We have been super busy around the Rega household!
Kicking off here with Halloween.
Carter was a "Celebri" Kitty, which it turns out is very hard to explain to people when they ask what you are on Halloween. Basically a sparkly kitty with her eyes set on making it big in Hollywood!
Mason wanted to be something scary this year, which is quite a departure from his past costumes.
No more Woody costumes or 3 years running of Power Rangers I guess.
We are not sure exactly what he is but he looks a little like deranged mutant warrior.
It was very cool, we have never seen a fire this big, you could feel the warmth on your skin.
We headed into Washington to hook up with Erica, Tyson and Martha for a walk along the riverfront, but made a quick pit stop at the Old Dutch Hotel.
The Old Dutch was a business that my Dad owned for many years when I was Carter and Mason's age and I love to pop in there whenever I can. It was a bar/restaurant/hotel and to me when I was a little girl was one of the coolest places on earth. It had a bar that seemed so long and tall to me.
There was a stage in the corner for bands, which was my personal dancefloor and stage and if you went upstairs there was a lounge where the hotel guests could watch tv and smoke.
My grandma was in the kitchen cooking up delicious food and if there weren't too many people there my dad would let me go behind the bar and wash glasses in the triple bowl sink.
It is currently owned by a business that sells gifts and such, but is about to change hands and be restored to it's original state and be a bar/restaurant/hotel again. It is very exciting.
When I was a girl I would have gone up in that barn and never come down and just played with those little babies all day.
For being in the middle of Wildwood, we really don't have many leaves.
Carter does nothing halfway, she really gets into whatever she's playing in whether it be sand, or mud or leaves.
Mason pulled himself away from the computer for a few minutes to test out the leaf pile.
He failed to realize that Mike gave Carter a little money for helping

A little quality family bonding time with Uncle Scott.

It's Party Time, we had a couples shower for Michelle and Craig. Two of Michelle's friends helped with the planning and I think it turned out really nice. Another friend donated the use of his Margarita machine so I think that alone made the party a roaring success, because really what else do you really need but a frozen party in a glass.
This technically was my first "party" we have had friends over but never a real party like grown ups and it was really fun, I think I may do it again sometime, although I am sure my neighbors would like me to wait quite awhile.
Tuesday Erica and Martha and Mary and I went downtown to a booksigning for Pioneer Woman Cooks. She is a woman who started a blog it has a photography section, cooking section, home and garden and homeschooling. She is my hero. We were very excited because we got to sit right in front. I think people thought the seats were saved for special guests. Which of course we are so sat down and were able to be so close. We even got to visit with her Husband "Marlboro Man" and their kids when he came in the side door bearing bags of T-Shirts.
Their boys were so cute and so mischevious!
Typical kids interupting mom.
Now they are both tugging at her.
Bryce was weaving thru the line signing autographs. I think the celebrity life suits them.
Erica, P-Dub, and I , she was just as funny in person and had a real grace about her.
We could totally be BFF's!
He was standing there handing out t-shirts and signing autographs and then he said
"you stay here and hand out the shirts, I have to move my car, I am illegally parked"
I was like......"are you talking to me?" But he was talking to his boys behind him.
It was pretty funny, because I was totally ready to dive in and help however the P-Dub family needed. I mean thats what BFF's are for right?
A total thrill for me and free t-shirt to boot.
Ree you complete me, hee hee!
