Happy Birthday Mason!

On Sunday Mason turned 8!  We got down to business right away!

Do not be confused this is not an iPhone, it is an iPod touch.  However I still think Mason is confused because he still continues to call it his phone because he can text from it(via-wifi) and I think it may be the best present we ever got him.  He has thanked me repeatedly for this phone.  However just a tip for all you parents out there of 2 or more children, you may want to make a gift like this a christmas present and give one to each because it may cause hard feelings and sharing issues.  Just saying……….

Streamers……..check!  Mason was very concerned and reminded me several times of all my Birthday Parental Duties this year, quite frankly it took a little of the fun out of it.

Cake………check!

We headed to America’s Incredible Pizza, for some family fun and games.

Papa Nick and Grandma Betty had come into town in hopes of seeing some ball games as well as celebrating Mason’s birthday, however the rain wreaked havoc on those plans, but they did get to enjoy some of America’s Incredible Pizza.

Mason was quite excited to see that he was free to serve himself at A.I.P. He was grinning from ear to ear as he helped himself to several plates of pizza and assorted foods that did not get eaten.

I am going to make my own sign for home that says

“children over the age of eight are perfectly capable of serving themselves”

Earlier in the week we discovered that Carter can play the violin.  It is mandatory that 4th graders in the Rockwood School District play the violin.  However we never once had the violin brought home or quite frankly even discussed.  Turns out the 4th graders are really, quite good, who knew?  Enjoy the clip below.  Carter is in the 2nd to last row under the blue outlined sign.
